Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 19, 2026

SideFetch ("we", "our", "the extension") is a product of Hemant ("the Developer"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights.

No Data Sent to Our Servers

We do not operate backend servers that receive your data. The extension runs entirely in your browser. Your API requests, headers, authentication credentials, and response data never pass through any server we control.

Direct Browser-to-API Requests

When you send an API request through SideFetch, the request is made directly from your browser to the target API endpoint. We do not proxy, intercept, log, or inspect your requests or responses.

Local Storage

All extension data — including request history, collections, settings, and preferences — is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.sync. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

AI-Powered Error Explanations

When you use the "Explain Error" feature, the extension sends the HTTP status code, error message, and relevant response context to the Groq API to generate a human-readable explanation. Only the error context is sent — not your full request, headers, or authentication credentials. This feature is optional and only activates when you explicitly click the explain button.

No Analytics or Tracking

We do not use any analytics, telemetry, or tracking tools. No cookies are set. No usage data is collected. We do not know how many requests you send, which APIs you use, or how often you open the extension.

Payment Processing

Pro subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. We never see, store, or process your payment card details. Lemon Squeezy handles all billing, taxes, and payment security. Please refer to Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there is typically nothing to request access to, correct, or delete on our end. You can clear all extension data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome or clearing its storage via Chrome settings.
